Smile Redesign - Veneers
Dental veneers are a versatile and cost-effective way to improve the appearance of your smile.

Veneers are new fronts to the teeth, they can resurface teeth to make the teeth blend in to the natural smile, or they can be used to completely redesign a smile.
There is a significant variation in the quality of veneers at different practices, and although the materials will be similar, our treatment takes a team approach. First the dentist analyses the smile to see how it can be improved. This takes an artistic eye and vision, in addition to medical knowledge! Then the smile is created in the patient's mouth, to visualise the final smile.
Initially, we work on the macro-cosmetics of the smile – the big picture stuff. That means planning things like the length of the teeth, the midline position, and positioning the bottom edges of the top teeth parallel with the lower lip. We spend a lot of time getting this right, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution. It's all about doing a facial analysis and crafting a suitable style of smile for that individual.

This includes things like adding the right amount of curvature to the edges of the teeth so they don’t look too big or thin, everything is kept in balance. Once we have this right, we will ask a top cosmetic dental lab to make the veneers, they will copy our macro aesthetics and add detail in the microaesthetics. The micro aesthetics includes stuff like the texture, the changes in colour from the neck to the tip of the tooth. These are all things that will help the smile look natural and fresh.
Things like the texture helps to scatter light and make the tooth look vibrant. It takes more skill from a dental lab to add the right level of texture than it does to make a smooth block colour veneer.
Veneers can be used to redesign a smile in combination with other treatments if required. For example, missing teeth can be replaced with dental implants, and veneers placed on healthy teeth to create a cohesive look to the whole smile.
